A Short Week Packed with Activities

My little jesters celebrated Mardi Gras at our annual pancake breakfast.
YUMMY, YUM, YUM!!!

Lent began on Wednesday.
We attended Mass and got our ashes {no photos}

And then the LOVE CRAZED Littles entered the room on Thursday morning.
Sugar, love, more sugar and conversation hearts {more sugar}.
My Littles sorted, graphed and tallied the hearts in their boxes.  It was so fun listening to my sweets discuss and compare their investigations.

Of course they all wanted to munch on the candies.  So I made them a deal.  I told them they could eat them on one condition....they had to write the phrase on each heart as they ate them.  Boy, my Littles put the pencil to the paper and wrote each and every phrase!  Impressive!!!  It was oh so cute listening to the giggles and the eeews when they came across the hug and kiss words.  They are just too cute!

Four and a half days off.
My Littles think they are getting 4 "stay at home" days because my birthday is this Sunday...I love that they think I have rock star status.
I'm off to the warmer weather for the President's Day Soccer Tournament.
Phoenix here I come!

What's Up Wednesday

Hurray, Hurray,
Yesterday was the 100th Day!
We started our day by making Zero the Hero headbands.  Unfortunately I had to miss part of the morning because of a meeting at a neighboring school.

But, thanks to the sweet and talented Cara Carroll, my sub didn't have to worry about a thing!  She worked on a couple of activities from this pack {sorry no pics to show :(}

Then we got creative with a 1, 0, and another 0
I love our die cut machine!
Each kiddo got a 1-0-0 and had to incorporate it into their picture somehow.

They really are 100 Days Smarter!!!

100 Gumballs!
Any activity using bingo dabbers catches their attention.

Break the Sight Word Code center from The Moffat Girls.
My detectives are working hard to figure out the secret message.
{look, she found her thumb ;)}

 We've been making our Words of Love banners to hang in the hallway.
A Heart Full of Words - word work center
I found these hearts at the local grocery store last year (.29 cents for a pack of 10), filled them with our sight words, and let the kiddos go to town unscrambling them.

Hugs & Kisses
I have used this activity for years and it never gets old. I print lots of X's and O's in different fonts and let the kids make a project of hugs & kisses to hang in the hall.

Some down time...
